Triangle Area Dragon Boat Festival
What is a dragon boat? On September 19 starting at 9:00 a.m. you can see for yourself at the Koka Booth Amphitheater at the Triangle Area Dragon Boat Festival. The goal of the festival is to share Asian Culture through Dragon Boat Racing, while providing a way for organizations to encourage team building and fundraising. Dragon Boats bring together 20 paddlers and one drummer to race to the finish line in traditional Asian boating style. The festival also hosts cultural exhibits, performances and, of course, Asian-inspired food.
Carolina RailHawks Homebrew Soktoberfest
The North Carolina RailHawks have their own way of celebrating Oktoberfest, but in September. At Soktoberfest, which takes place on September 26 at 5:30, you can have the chance to sample the brew of local craft and home brewers, while enjoying German-themed food and live music from ReverbNation. This event is free, but donations for the Spread Your Wings Foundation are accepted.
